~ My 10 Purse Essentials ~
When I tell people I have five boys they always say the same thing to me: “I don’t know how you do it”. To be honest, there’s days where I ask myself the same question. All of the days where I feel like I’ve got it all together is because I’m always prepared. I have one son who started a new job, a teen who started driving, one that just became a teen, a tween starting middle school, AND a 19 month old who’s teething. Things can get pretty scary if I don’t have my purse essentials that I buy at the pharmacy section at Walmart for everyone!
I’ve never been one to use a baby bag. Instead, I use whatever is my favorite bag at the moment to keep things readily available. I don’t just dump everything in one bag, I keep a smaller pouch with my necessities in case I want to quickly swap out bags. It’s a convienenient, organized way to keep anyones bag, not just a mom. My families needs are constantly changing and below are my essentials that I’m currently carrying when I’m out and about.
1. Flu season is upon us and I keep my guys who work outside healthy with Emergen-C Immune+ Chewables. I carry these around in my bag to keep their immune system up so that they can have healthier days and nights. I plan on carrying these around to keep myself healthy and prevent any unwanted illnesses around the new baby.
2. Infant’s Advil : My little guy is 19 months old and he’s still teething pretty bad. Infant Advil provides up to eight hours of fever and pain relief with only one dose. If Joseph had a rough night and I know I’ve got a busy day ahead, I make sure to keep this handy in case he gets fussy and things get out of hand.
3. For those days where we’re out and about with everyone in town I keep an Advil Tablet Vial. Nothing works on more pains than Advil (among OTC pain relievers). While I don’t take it now because I’m pregnant, I keep them in my purse for Franklyn and his chronic headaches.
4. There’s seven of us in our house and if someone hasn’t just caught a cold, we’re either getting over it or giving it to someone else. Someone always needs a tissue because mama doesnt like it when she catches someone wiping there nose on their sleeves.
5. Bandaids for when anyone gets hurt, which is almost all the time.
6. Hand sanitizer, because I’m a germaphobe.
7. A pen, see above.
8. A perfume roller for those days where I forget to spritz on the way out.
9. Hair ties in case the humidity takes control of my hair
10. Joseph is now at an age where I can get away with running out the door with just a diaper and wipes, which fits perfectly in my bag.
Wondering where my phone and charger are? Well, I rarely ever keep it in my purse because it tends to become a dumping ground for everyone. To keep my bag somewhat under control, I empty it once a week, toss the garbage, and start fresh.
What are your purse essentials?

This was so helpful! I should carry the infant Advil around. My baby is still too small so I need the diaper bag to lug around.

I love Emergen-C. I had no idea they made chewables!

I carry a few of those items too and a few I should. I carry pills for my daughter whom gets random headaches (noticing when she has too much excitement and no nap). I was carrying a bottle of liquid and was happy to find pill form for her age. When my kids were young I used to just do a diaper and the wipes too. I hated that diaper bag. I did leave one in the truck but was never one to tote one around. Lastly, I have 3 girls and should carry some hair ties but I don’t and when we are trying to eat or look presentable there isn’t one to help with that at all. Unless their is a rogue tie at the bottom of my purse because I by no means empty and clean it once a week. 🙁

I think it’s important that we bring extra medicine in case something happens. It’s definitely a must. My bag contents are somewhat similar to this.

I always pack for the kids, but never remember to do so for myself! I love the idea of having a smaller pouch with my own necessities so that I don’t have to dig around my purse looking for each item! {client}
