I cannot believe that the start of another school year is less than three weeks away! All Florida schools end and start a lot earlier than up north. The move was rough and it is taking a lot longer to recover from than I thought it would. For now, I’ve resorted to focusing on the more important things to get ready for the kids going back to school and to me, that means organizing and buying all of their favorite breakfast items and snacks for after school.
DIY Chalkboard Backpack Rack
One of my biggest pet peeves is when the kids leave their backpacks all over the house, so I plan on making sure all of their backpacks and jackets have a place to hang. Each kid will have a chalkboard backpack rack (see full tutorial below). They can easily hang up their backpacks and even jot down reminders or notes. All it takes is one piece of wood, a few hooks, and some chalk spray paint. For less than $20, you have a brand new backpack rack!
Even the busiest of our mornings will be made even easier with Jimmy Dean® Pancakes & Sausage on a stick! Jimmy Dean® Pancakes & Sausage are located in the frozen breakfast aisle at Walmart and taste just as good as they look. They even come with on package sticker savings and pack a whopping 6 grams of protein per serving, which will definitely keep the boys fueled for school!
For after school, I’ve always relied on Tyson® Chicken Nuggets, another protein packed convenient solution that makes everyone happy! Tyson Foods has going back to school covered, whether it’s breakfast, lunch, snacks, or even dinner, at an affordable price! Here’s a helpful lunch or dinner idea: Take your favorite salad and top it with chopped up chicken nuggets. It’s delicious, convenient, and a lot cheaper than a drive thru salad.
DIY Chalkboard Backpack Rack
Supplies:
1 piece of wood
Hooks or knobs
Chalkboard spray paint
Electric screw driver and screws
Chalk
How To:
Take your pre-cut piece of wood and spray paint it.
First determine if you want the rack vertical or horizontal. I chose vertical which is perfect for small spaces. Add your first hook using screws they came with. **Make sure you find a spot where there’s a stud to ensure that rack will be steady enough to hold a backpack. I recommend using a stud finder.
Screw second hook into place and you’re done.
Add your kids backpacks and or hats and you’re good to go!
Use chalk to jot down reminders or leave notes for kids.
Pin for later!
How do you get your crew ready for back to school?

I haven’t tried chicken nuggets on my salad, but you know I’m going to now. It sounds just as delicious as the crispy chicken that I normally put on it.
