~ Soda Bottle Christmas Tree Craft + Giving Back ~
Thanksgiving is less than two weeks away. I’m just about 6 months pregnant now and busier than ever! Maybe it’s just me but all the holidays just seem to be moving way too fast and when you add work into the equation, it gets harder and harder to be in the moment and really cherish the time you have with your family. Thankfully, this is the kids last week before winter break where we will be able to chill out a little. Until then, I’m grateful that I can always depend on quick delicious Walmart Deli meals .
I cannot tell you how many times where I was working a ton of hours and the last thing I wanted to do was stand in front of stove and cook, where a Walmart Deli meal has saved the night. It allows us to still sit down and enjoy a family meal and a glass of Coca-Cola without any of the hassle and that’s priceless. We can all relax and catch up on our days and talk about what’s on our shopping wish lists.
While I haven’t had the time to put up my Christmas tree, buying a Walmart Deli Meal did allow me to squeeze some extra time to have a little fun with one of my youngest. We turned a two-liter Coca-Cola (our favorite) bottle into a christmas tree with lights! I just thought it was fun festive touch for the table that will keep me happy until I get a chance to put up the real thing. See the step by step instructions below.
Speaking of the holidays and family meals, this year Walmart has teamed up with the Salvation Army and every Walmart Deli meal with a Coca Cola purchase in November and December will support support Coca-Cola at Walmart and provide families through the Salvation Army a warm meal for the holidays. Want to help? Share a picture of you and your family (see my pic below) enjoying Coca-Cola and a prepared meal from the Walmart Deli using hashtag #GiveHappiness to help spread awareness about the program and help inspire others to help families in need.
Grab yourself a yummy Walmart Deli meal or gift one to a friend or family!
Turn your two-liter into a Christmas tree.
What you need: **All supplies were bought in Walmart
Scissors
Tape
3 ft wire garland
3 ft battery operated lights
Batteries
Pom poms
Mints
Glue
Green paper plates
How to:
Take wire garland and wrap around the bottle neck.
Tape on the back side **Don’t try using glue like I did, it won’t hold and the tape is barely visible anyway.
Continue to wrap the garland around the bottle, taping it where it’s needed and then cut off any excess.
Take the lights and tie it around the bottle neck and proceed to do the same thing you did with the garland.
Start gluing on your pompoms.
The tape the back of the mints and place wherever you’d like. **Keep them wrapped if you know those at the table will enjoy the mints. I took them off for the pictures but will be replacing with ones that are wrapped.
Top with your star and you’re done!
Place on green paper plate and adorn the plate with a variety of ornaments as fillers. **Can also be filled with more candy, chocolate or even cups.
Place on your table for a fun festive touch that everyone will enjoy.
Grabbing a Walmart Deli meal & a Coca Cola this season will not only save you time but also help other families in need. We put together this Coca Cola tree, what will you do with the extra time with your family?
