Must-Have Mother's Day Gift Ideas

Can you guys believe that Mother’s Day is this weekend? Time is just flying by! I’m not sure what we’re doing just yet, maybe something low key that hopefully involves lots of sleeping and grilling. Last week I got a box of goodies from Babbblebox and it was an early Mother’s Day surprise filled to the brim with items that I need for the kids and a few must haves for me. It was basically the perfect combo for a Mother’s Day gift basket. Need some Mothers Day gift ideas? Check out out some of the hottest items that any new mom will be sure to love.

Must-Have Mother's Day Gift Ideas

Just like any other mom, I love to take pictures of my babies. The FujiFilm INSTAX makes the process even more fun and allows me to instantly enjoy the beautiful picture. We now have a ton of instant pictures that I turned into magnets and my toddler gets a kick out of seeing all his brothers up on the fridge and starts calling out their names. I even got a little creative and took pictures of some outfits that came to mind and pinned them up in my closet so I wouldn’t forget. The possibilities are endless! The FujiFilm INSTAX Mini 70 is the latest edition with better picture quality that now also has a slimmer design making it perfect for your bag or even diaper bag

As parents we avoid paragons, phthalates and sulfates, so it’s nice to see products what we need for our kids with their favorite characters from Sesame Street that children will love to apply themselves. These  Sesame Nourishing Naturals products that are petroleum free (love that) are available at Target along with the rest of the collection.

I’ve been using talc free Butt Paste after every diaper change for  rashes and irritations for what seems like forever to me. It’s a total lifesaver and comes in regular, extra strength, and even a natural version that provides relief from the very first use. It is available at Amazon or your local favorite baby store.

Mustela® Maternity Stretch Marks Prevention Cream

Must-Have Mother's Day Gift Ideas

I have six kids and you best believe I have stretch marks. Lots of them! If there’s one thing that I would gift any new mom or mom-to-be, it would be the Mustela® Maternity Stretch Marks Prevention Cream. 97% of the women who’ve used it claim to have never developed stretch marks. Why didn’t I know about this sooner!? I’m using it now during my postpartum phase and it instantly absorbs and visibly moisturizes and smells just as amazing as every other Mustela product that I’ve bought. Receive 20% off your entire purchase at www.MustelaUSA.com using the code MustelaBabbleBox. Offer expires May 15.

I’d love to know which one of these items would you pick for your own Mother’s Day basket?

I managed to make it until my 7th month without any maternity clothes.  It wasn’t easy but I was determined not to spend money on clothes that I will outgrow and possibly never wear again.  I instead found ways to manipulate the pieces I had and bought clothes that had a significant amount of stretch. I also avoided trendier pieces that tend to be more expensive.  What I will be left with are pieces that I can wear after the belly is gone.  Below are 5 pieces that will get you through their first 2 trimesters.

Find a style of top that flatters you, has a ton of stretch and goes past your hips in length.  For me it was these super affordable striped tops by American Dreams from Ross.  They’re almost impossible to find and Only $5.99 and I have about 6 of them in different colors.  Any of the ones below will do the trick.

Now that I’m almost 9 months I layer a long tank underneath all of my non-maternity tops for the extra coverage I need.

Maternity Tank

Seamless Maternity Tank

I’ve been using a lot of my pre-pregnancy denim tops to mix and match with tanks and as a little jacket over dresses.

Yoga pants are a fashion no-no when paired with frumpy pieces, but when paired with a chic chambray top and ballerina flats they’re not much different than skinny jeans.  I bought myself 3 pairs of Target’s yoga pants for only $14.99 each and they’ve held up pretty good.

Maxi dresses: If you find a style you like and they have them in more colors buy them all!  Super comfy, easy to find on the cheap and they flatter the bump beautifully.  Pair with a sweater for cooler weather.

The idea is to keep it simple, comfy and stylish.  You can glam up any of these pieces with big bold necklaces, pile up a ton of bangles or wear some sexy oversized hoops.

I’m pretty realistic when it comes to post-baby bodies and dressing them stylishly.  I’ve had four kids and know what works on me but with every additional child it’s always a tad bit harder.  I’m always amazed and shocked at how some woman pop out a kid and throw on a bikini 6 weeks later…not gonna happen over here!  I do however appreciate a well dressed mama who is working hard and taking care of herself post baby and it shows.  I’m not to far away from my due date and I’m already compiling  a huge list of post-baby outfits for inspiration because this time around I’m busier and won’t be sitting at home all day and I need to look and feel good. Below are some of my faves from Kim Kardashian.  I’ve always loved her sexy style but now I love it even more especially her monochromatic looks and oversized  coats.

Kim KArdashian Post Baby Looks

The most casual I’ve ever seen her and I love it! Tip: A longer sweater would be more flattering.

Kim Kardashian Post Baby Look

This outfit is probably one of my favorites!  Love how she kept it simple with a slight edgy feel.  Notice the lose fitting tee it’s a must have any new mama.
