I managed to make it until my 7th month without any maternity clothes. It wasn’t easy but I was determined not to spend money on clothes that I will outgrow and possibly never wear again. I instead found ways to manipulate the pieces I had and bought clothes that had a significant amount of stretch. I also avoided trendier pieces that tend to be more expensive. What I will be left with are pieces that I can wear after the belly is gone. Below are 5 pieces that will get you through their first 2 trimesters.
Now that I’m almost 9 months I layer a long tank underneath all of my non-maternity tops for the extra coverage I need.
I’ve been using a lot of my pre-pregnancy denim tops to mix and match with tanks and as a little jacket over dresses.

Yoga pants are a fashion no-no when paired with frumpy pieces, but when paired with a chic chambray top and ballerina flats they’re not much different than skinny jeans. I bought myself 3 pairs of Target’s yoga pants for only $14.99 each and they’ve held up pretty good.

Maxi dresses: If you find a style you like and they have them in more colors buy them all! Super comfy, easy to find on the cheap and they flatter the bump beautifully. Pair with a sweater for cooler weather.
The idea is to keep it simple, comfy and stylish. You can glam up any of these pieces with big bold necklaces, pile up a ton of bangles or wear some sexy oversized hoops.

Brilliant! Wish I had read this seven years ago!

Why or why weren’t there cute maternity clothes (or regular clothes with tummy room) back when I was pregnant! I am totally dating myself, but with my first child I wore those hideous pink maternity shirts with BOWS. Yikes! These pieces are adorable 🙂 #SITSBlogging

I love this!! All of these clothes are so adorable, and just like Jennifer said above, I wish I had had this as a resource when I was pregnant! But I’ll be pregnant again someday (God-willing), so I will definitely have to check back on your tips!
Glad to have found you through SITS 🙂 ~Jenna
