Ingredients

  • 2 large Salmon Fillets
  • 1/4 cup Tamari Sauce or low-sodium soy sauce
  • 2 tbsp Brown Sugar Substitute
  • 1 tbsp Rice Wine Vinegar
  • 2 tbsp Sesame Oil
  • 1/2 tsp Minced Garlic
  • 1/2 tsp Dried Ginger
  • 3 Green Onions

Optional

  • 1 tsp Xanthan Gum
  • 2 tbsp Water

Garnish

  • Sesame Seeds
  • Green Onions
  • Sriracha Sauce

Instructions

  1. In a saucepan, whisk together tamari/ soy sauce, brown sugar, rice wine vinegar, minced garlic, and ginger.

  2. Bring the sauce to a simmer. If you would like the sauce to be thicker, add the xanthan gum slurry.

  3. Lower heat and continue to stir the sauce for another 1-2 minutes, or until it has reduced and thickened slightly. Remove from heat.

  4. Slice the green onions. Keep white and green parts separate.

  5. In a skillet, heat 2 Tbsp of sesame oil. Add the white parts of the green onions and saute for 2-3 minutes, or until tender.

  6. Add the salmon fillets. Cook for 2 minutes on each side. Then top with the teriyaki sauce. Continue to cook for another 4-5 minutes, spooning the teriyaki sauce over the fish.

  7. Once your fish is fully cooked, remove from heat and top with the green parts of the onions, sesame seeds and sriracha sauce, if desired.
