Low-Carb Candied Bacon Twists

Ingredients

  • 10 Bacon Slices
  • 1/4 cup Brown Sugar Substitute
  • 2 tbsp Sugar-Free Maple Syrup
  • 1/2 tsp Cracked Black Pepper
  • 1/2 tsp Chili Powder
  • 1/2 tsp Red Pepper Flakes

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 375 degrees F.

  2. Line a baking sheet with foil, then top with a wire rack.

  3. In a small bowl, combine all the dry ingredients. Set aside.

  4. Twist each strip of bacon and place on the wire rack. To make sure they don't un-twist while cooking, you can either press the ends into the wire rack or use toothpicks to hold the ends down.

  5. Drizzle the maple syrup over each bacon twist.

  6. Top with approximately ⅔ of the sugar mixture. *I like to sprinkle the rest over top, half way through cooking time.

  7. Bake for approximately 30-35 minutes.

  8. Carefully remove and let cool. The twists will become more crispy as they cool.
