Keto Kentucky Hot Brown Casserole

A classic dish from down south, keto Kentucky hot brown casserole has three incredible layers and is ready in less than an hour.

Ingredients

Bread Layer

  • 2 cups Mozzarella Cheese shredded
  • 2 ounces Cream Cheese
  • 1 1/4 cup Almond Flour
  • 1 large Egg
  • 1/4 tsp Xanthan Gum
  • 1 tsp Baking Powder
  • 1/4 tsp Garlic Powder

Topping

  • 1 pound Sliced Cooked Turkey Breast
  • 1/2 cup Crumbled Bacon
  • 2 Roma Tomatoes sliced thin

Sauce

  • 1 1/2 cups Heavy Whipping Cream
  • 1/4 cup Chicken Broth
  • 1 cup Parmesan Cheese shredded
  • 2 tbsp Butter

Instructions

  1. Heat the oven to 350 degrees, and grease a 9x13 baking dish well.

  2. Place the cream cheese and mozzarella cheese into a bowl that is microwave safe.

  3. Heat the cheeses at 30 second intervals until melted and combined well.

  4. Add the cheese mixture to a mixing bowl with the rest of the bread layer ingredients, and blend until smooth.

  5. Press the dough mixture into the bottom of the baking dish and bake for 20 minutes.

  6. While the bread layer is baking, melt the butter in a skillet over medium heat.

  7. Stir in the heavy whipping cream, broth and salt and pepper to taste. Simmer until the sauce thickens.

  8. Stir in the Parmesan cheese and remove from the heat.

  9. When the bread layer is done baking, add the turkey breast on top of it, followed by ½ of the crumbled bacon and the tomato slices.

  10. Pour the sauce mixture over the casserole, and top with the remaining crumbled bacon.

  11. Bake for 15 minutes.

  12. Allow to sit for 10 minutes before serving.
