Ingredients

  • 1 pound Shrimp peeled and deveined without tails
  • 1 pound Smoked Sausage sliced
  • 1 tbsp Olive Oil
  • 2 tbsp Butter
  • 2 tsp Cajun Seasoning
  • 1/2 Onion sliced
  • 1/2 Red Bell Pepper sliced
  • 1/2 Green Bell Pepper sliced
  • 1/3 cup Chicken Broth
  • 1 cup Heavy Whipping Cream
  • 2 tsp Minced Garlic
  • Salt and Pepper to taste
  • Cayenne Pepper to taste

Instructions

  • Heat the olive oil in a large skillet over medium high heat.
  • Stir in the shrimp and sausage, and sprinkle with 1 tsp of the cajun seasoning.
  • Saute until browned and cooked through. Remove the meat and set aside.
  • Reduce the heat on the skillet to medium, and add in the butter.
  • Mix in the onions and peppers, and saute until softened.
  • Stir in the minced garlic, and saute for 30 seconds longer.
  • Add in the chicken broth, remaining cajun seasoning, heavy whipping cream and cayenne pepper to taste. Simmer until the sauce thickens.
  • Return the shrimp and sausage to the skillet, and stir to combine.
  • Season with salt and pepper to taste, and more cayenne pepper to increase the spiciness if desired.
