Equipment

  • Aluminum Foil
  • Toothpicks

Ingredients

  • 10 Bacon Slices
  • 1/4 cup Brown Sugar Substitute
  • 2 tbsp Sugar-Free Maple Syrup
  • 1/2 tsp Cracked Black Pepper
  • 1/2 tsp Chili Powder
  • 1/2 tsp Red Pepper Flakes

Instructions

  • Preheat the oven to 375 degrees F.
  • Line a baking sheet with foil, then top with a wire rack.
  • In a small bowl, combine all the dry ingredients. Set aside.
  • Twist each strip of bacon and place on the wire rack. To make sure they don't un-twist while cooking, you can either press the ends into the wire rack or use toothpicks to hold the ends down.
  • Drizzle the maple syrup over each bacon twist.
  • Top with approximately ⅔ of the sugar mixture. *I like to sprinkle the rest over top, half way through cooking time.
  • Bake for approximately 30-35 minutes.
  • Carefully remove and let cool. The twists will become more crispy as they cool.
