1/2Onion chopped
1cupCelery chopped
1/2cupCarrotschopped
2cupsTurnips peeled and cubed
1cupDill Picklesfinely chopped
1/2cupDill Pickle Juice
1/2cupSour Cream`
5cupsChicken Broth
3tbspButter
1pinchCayenne Pepper
1bunchFresh Dillfor garnish
Chopped Bacon Pieces for garnish
Instructions
Melt the butter in a pot over medium heat.
Add in the onions, celery, carrots and turnips, and saute until beginning to soften.
Add in the dill pickles, pickle juice, chicken broth, salt and pepper to taste and cayenne pepper. Stir to combine well.
Bring the mixture to a boil.
Reduce the heat, cover and simmer for 20-25 minutes until the vegetables are tender.
Stir in the sour cream, and simmer for another 5 minutes before serving.
Garnish with bacon pieces and fresh dill.
