Ingredients

  • 2 medium Yellow Onions cut in half and then sliced thinly
  • 4 tbsp Butter divided
  • 1/4 cup White Cooking Wine
  • 3 tsp Minced Garlic
  • 1 tbsp Fresh Thyme
  • 4 cups Beef Broth
  • 4 ounces Shredded Gruyere Cheese
  • 1 quart Baby Bella Mushrooms
  • 2 servings 90-second Bread
  • 1/4 tsp Garlic Powder

Instructions

  • Place two tablespoons of butter into a pot over medium heat on thestove.
  • Add the onions to the pot, and saute in the butter, stirring often until softened.
  • Once softened, reduce the heat to medium low, and saute until the onions are browned and caramelized. This takes about 25 minutes.
  • While the onions are cooking, prepare the 90 second bread in square containers. Cut each slice in half to form a total of 4 slices of bread.
  • Place the bread on a parchment lined baking sheet.
  • Melt the remaining butter, and brush over the bread.
  • Sprinkle the bread with the garlic powder.
  • Place the bread under the broiler until toasted, and then cut into cubes.
  • Once the onions are done, add in the garlic and thyme, and saute for 30 seconds.
  • Pour in the white cooking wine to deglaze the pot.
  • Stir in the beef broth and salt and pepper to taste.
