1poundItalian Sausage
2tbspButter
1/2Onion chopped
1Red Bell Pepper chopped
1/2cupCelery chopped
1/3cupMatchstick Carrots
1Turnip peeled and diced
3cupsBeef Broth
2tspMinced Garlic
1tspDried Basil
1tspDried Rosemary
1tspDried Oregano
Salt and Pepper to taste
Instructions
Add the sausage to a skillet over medium high heat, and saute until completely browned and cooked through. Drain the excess grease.
In a pot, melt the butter over medium heat.
Stir in the onions, pepper, celery, and turnips. Saute until the vegetables are beginning to soften.
Mix in the garlic, basil, rosemary, oregano, carrots and salt and pepper to taste. Saute for 1 minute.
Place the sausage in the pot, and pour in the beef broth.
Cover and simmer for 15-20 minutes until the turnips have softened.
Season with more salt and pepper to taste before serving if desired.
