Ingredients

  • 1 pound Italian Sausage
  • 2 tbsp Butter
  • 1/2 Onion chopped
  • 1 Red Bell Pepper chopped
  • 1/2 cup Celery chopped
  • 1/3 cup Matchstick Carrots
  • 1 Turnip peeled and diced
  • 3 cups Beef Broth
  • 2 tsp Minced Garlic
  • 1 tsp Dried Basil
  • 1 tsp Dried Rosemary
  • 1 tsp Dried Oregano
  • Salt and Pepper to taste

Instructions

  • Add the sausage to a skillet over medium high heat, and saute until completely browned and cooked through. Drain the excess grease.
  • In a pot, melt the butter over medium heat.
  • Stir in the onions, pepper, celery, and turnips. Saute until the vegetables are beginning to soften.
  • Mix in the garlic, basil, rosemary, oregano, carrots and salt and pepper to taste. Saute for 1 minute.
  • Place the sausage in the pot, and pour in the beef broth.
  • Cover and simmer for 15-20 minutes until the turnips have softened.
  • Season with more salt and pepper to taste before serving if desired.
