Ingredients

  • 1 pound Green Beans washed and trimmed
  • 2 tbsp Olive Oil
  • 1/2 Shallot finely chopped
  • 2 tsp Minced Garlic
  • 1 tbsp Sugar-Free Honey
  • Salt and Pepper to taste
  • 1/4 tsp Red Pepper Flakes or more to taste
  • 2 tbsp Butter
  • 1/3 cup Chopped Pecans
  • 1 tbsp Swerve Brown Sugar Substitute

Instructions

  1. Heat the olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat.

  2. Add in the shallot and garlic, and saute for 1 minute.

  3. Stir in the beans, and add in a bit of water. Cover and simmer until the beans are done to your liking.

  4. Drizzle with the sugar free honey and red pepper flakes. Saute for another minute.

  5. Season with salt and pepper to taste

  6. In a separate small skillet, melt the butter and brown sugar substitute over medium heat. Once the mixture begins to get a bit foamy, stir in the pecans.

  7. Spread the pecan mixture on a piece of parchment paper, and let cool.

  8. Sprinkle the caramelized pecans over the beans and serve.
