Wake up your tastebuds with the yummiest green beans recipe ever! Keto spicy green beans are topped with pecans and are unforgettable.
Are Green Beans Keto
Yes, green beans are keto-friendly. Green beans are also called snap beans because you can snap them in half.
They are high-fiber vegetables that fit perfectly into the keto lifestyle. There are 7 grams of total carbs in a cup of fresh green beans. If you subtract the fiber, that leaves 4.3 grams of net carbs per serving.
With this low amount of carbs, you can enjoy a full serving of them without another thought.
Keto Spicy Green Beans
To make them taste perfectly spicy, I added red pepper flakes to the green beans. Use as much as you can handle! And if you really want to crank up the spice, add some hot sauce to the skillet.
I also added sugar-free honey to cut some of the heat back. So, if you leave out the honey then it will taste even spicier!
I still think you should leave it because that heat and sweet combo is so good you’ll begin to crave it.
Green Beans and Pecans
There are 5 grams net carbs in each serving of green beans. This is kinda on the higher side – especially when you consider that this is supposed to be a side dish, with a main course.
So to cut the carbs back, use just a few tablespoons of pecans or leave them out entirely.
I love how the caramelized pecans combine with the spicy green beans. The sweet and heat combo is unbeatable! But it’s ok to skip them if you’re trying to lower the carbs.
Spicy Green Beans
Whenever I make green beans, I think of bacon or pork, so serve this keto side dish with your favorite pork recipe. The spice in this dish will taste delicious with keto honey garlic pork bites. They both have the sticky-sweet honey flavor that you’ll love.
If you love lots of spice, make some keto Cajun pork ribs. They fall off the bone!
If you’re making dinner for your family, then some keto ranch pork chops will please everyone. My kids always ask for seconds.
Add some keto Hawaiian rolls with them and enjoy a filling dinner.
How To Store Green Beans
I love to eat these green beans throughout the week. As they sit in the fridge, the spices soak into the beans and they light up my tastebuds even more the next day.
Keep the keto spicy green beans in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to three days.
