Ingredients

  • 6 strips Bacon chopped
  • 2 tbsp Butter
  • 1/2 small Onion finely chopped
  • 1 clove Garlic minced
  • 1/2 cup Chicken Broth
  • 1 pound Green Beans halved with ends removed
  • 1 tsp Black Pepper

Instructions

  • Brown the bacon pieces in a large skillet over medium heat. When the bacon is crispy, remove it from the pan and drain all but around 1 tablespoon grease.
  • Add the butter to the pan. When the butter is melted, stir in the onion. Cook for 3 to 5 minutes, until the onion is translucent then add the garlic and cook one more minute.
  • Pour in the chicken broth and use a wooden spoon to scrape the bottom of the pan.
  • Add the green beans and black pepper, along with the cooked bacon. Stir to mix all the ingredients together.
  • Allow the liquid to come to a boil, then reduce the heat to low and cover the pan. Continue cooking for 15 to 20 minutes, until the beans are tender.
