This garlic butter cabbage stir fry is super simple and only has 3 basic ingredients. It’s really healthy and kids love it too!
Are you looking for a new way to eat your veggies? This is a super-simple side dish. Since it is flavored mildly, it goes with just about any meal too.
Healthy Cabbage Stir Fry
Cabbage is a low-carb vegetable that is also super good for you too. It is one of the best vegetables you can eat on a keto diet. Since it has so much fiber, it helps you improve your digestion. It’s also really good for your heart health. Plus, it has antioxidants that lower inflammation and fight free radicals.
When you are looking for a vegetable that you can eat more of, put cabbage high on your list!
It’s such a versatile veggie too. You can use the leaves whole as wraps. This stir-fry recipe uses it after you chop it up.
How To Stir Fry Cabbage
The very first step is to slice the cabbage into thin slices. The quickest way to do this is with a food processor. Just put it into the food processor and it does all the work for you!
Another way to save time chopping it up is to just buy some pre-chopped cabbage slaw. It works just as well as a head of cabbage, but it usually costs a little more.
After you chop up the cabbage, heat up the butter in a large, deep skillet. You will need a really large skillet at first, even though the cabbage shrinks as it cooks.
The entire recipe only takes about 5 minutes to make. It’s one of my go-to side dishes.
Cabbage For Meal Prep
This recipe is perfect for meal prep too because the cabbage heats up really well the next day. Just store it in your airtight meal prep container. You can even add your favorite protein to the stir fry and make it a filling meal. My favorite things to add to it are sausage, ground beef, or shredded chicken.
Kid-Friendly Cabbage Recipe
My kids love this recipe! I use this basic recipe as the foundation and then add different sauces to it in order to make it taste different each time. If you have pickier kids, just serve it to them with garlic and butter. It’s mild and a definite crowd-pleaser.
Make it Tex-Mex by adding some taco seasoning and peppers or make it taste like an egg roll with some soy sauce. The options are endless!
What To Serve With Cabbage Stir Fry
This is such a simple recipe that it goes with virtually any main course. To go with the garlic flavor, serve it with my keto creamy garlic chicken in tomato cream sauce. If you like meatballs, then spice up dinner time with these cajun keto chicken meatballs.
