All of my kids are back to school next week! We’ve wrapped up just about everything that is needed for their first day and now it’s all about getting organized! Scroll down to see how I made a DIY desk drawer organizer with items you have right at home!
Making sure that I’m organized is just as vital as having the kids ready for back to school. I am the one running the show and making sure everyone gets to where they need to be on time. To help stay on track, I always make a list and check off the things as they get done. DIY Desk Drawer Organizer

They’re our go-to pens for making list and since they come in so many fun colors they’re also great to use for back to school projects! These small but mighty pens also come in variety packs in different colors and some even erasable!
Since we have one desk that we all utilize, I figured it would be a good idea to start getting the desk cleared up and prep for this years school work by making a DIY desk drawer organizer. We simply took a shoe box lid (I love using items we have around the house for projects) and wrapped it in pretty wrapping paper and then inserted a liner. I even added thin plastic bins that will hold pens, pencils, and a variety of back to school supplies!
DIY Desk Organizer
Supplies:
Scissors
Shoe box lid
Wrapping paper
Stock paper
Tape
Small plastic draw organizers
Instructions:
Wrapping a lid can be tricky! I went ahead and wrote down the steps below but the pictures are a better guide.
Measure and cut your wrapping paper accordingly.
Cut corners inward and tuck and tape.
Fold in corners, tuck into lid and tape.
Cut your stock paper and slide inside lid.
Insert your plastic organizer and add your supplies!
