When you’re craving churros or cheesecake but don’t want to put in all that work, make these easy keto cinnamon cream cheese bites.
Keto Cream Cheese Bites
Do a quick search on my blog and you’ll see how much I love making keto churro recipes! I’ve made authentic keto churros, churro cheesecake bars, and churro fat bombs.
This time, I wanted to make a churro-inspired recipe that takes half the time. These cream cheese bites have the same cinnamon sugar flavor, but they’re ready in just minutes.
The most difficult part of this recipe is waiting for them to chill in the freezer. But this can be a good thing if you need to whip up some fresh desserts for a party and want to do the prep work ahead of time.
Then all you have to do is pan-fry the sliced tortillas and they’re ready in a minute or two.
Cinnamon Cream Cheese Bites
What’s inside the mini churro bites? I filled them with cream cheese, Swerve confectioner’s sugar substitute, cinnamon, and vanilla extract.
Can you use a different sweetener? Yes, you can.
The confectioner’s sugar substitute works the best because it makes the filling really light and airy. But if you don’t have it, you can use a liquid sweetener (like erythritol) in its place.
And don’t forget to let the filled tortillas chill in the freezer for at least an hour. This will make them easier to slice into round bites, and make them easier to fry on the stove.
Waiting an hour is tough when you’re craving them – but it’s worth the wait!
Easy Cream Cheese Dessert
I love using keto-friendly tortillas in my cooking. They’re so versatile and allow me to make a huge range of recipes that I didn’t know how to make low-carb before.
For this recipe, you can use either street taco or larger tortillas. Since you’re going to slice them into round pieces, the size of the tortillas isn’t important.
My favorite keto-friendly tortillas are from Mission, Siete, and Egglife. I tend to use the Mission brand the most because they’re budget-friendly and taste the most like a flour tortilla.
But Siete almond flour tortillas pair really well with the sweetness in these cream cheese roll ups.
Keto Party Food
If you make a big batch of cinnamon cream cheese bites, you can serve them at a party. I love making party food because then I know there will be things I can eat (without getting kicked out of ketosis).
What kind of party foods will taste good with these cinnamon sugar bites? I suggest making something savory so that they contrast with the richness of the cream cheese filling.
My Keto Mexican Pinwheels offer a spicy kick, while my Keto Air Fryer Fritters are seasoned with onion and garlic powder, offering a delightful crunch.
And everyone loves Keto Antipasto Skewers, with layers of mozzarella, pepperoni, olives, and cherry tomatoes.
Crispy Cream Cheese Bites
These cream cheese bites are sweet and they are very rich. So you might have some leftovers after snacking on them.
If you do, store them in an airtight container and keep them in the refrigerator. They will stay fresh for about three days.
And they taste delicious when they’re chilled, so you don’t have to worry about reheating them. Even though I pan-fried my cinnamon cream cheese bites, you could make them in the air fryer, too.
Put them in a single layer in the air fryer basket. Set the air fryer to 350 and fry them for about 5 minutes.
Flip them over and air fryer for a few more minutes. They will be ready in no time at all!
