This Buffalo cauliflower hummus is a spicy and low-carb dip that will liven up lunch or your snack time! It’s perfect for parties too.
Keto-Friendly Hummus Recipe
Normally, hummus is made from pureed chickpeas. Chickpeas aren’t always a good idea on the keto diet since it is higher in carbs. I still love the taste and texture of dips, so I decided to make a keto-friendly hummus!
This cauliflower hummus is a fantastic way to enjoy hummus flavors and textures without the carbs. It’s perfect for snacking or entertaining. When it comes to parties, I like to bring my own foods so I know for sure there will be low-carb foods that fit in my macros.
Cauliflower Hummus Ingredients
All of the exact ingredients are in the printable recipe card at the bottom of the post. First, I just want to share a few tips and more information about what I used to make this hummus.
I made this with microwavable steamed cauliflower florets. You can also chop a fresh cauliflower up into florets and steam it until it’s tender too. Neither option is better, so do what you have time for.
To make the hummus, I pureed the cauliflower with olive oil, tahini, buffalo sauce, and minced garlic. Tahini is fantastic! It’s basically made by pureeing sesame seeds. It has a really nutty flavor that is perfect with the cauliflower.
If you don’t have olive oil, you can use your favorite type of cooking oil – avocado oil is a very popular choice and works great.
Blue Cheese Buffalo Hummus
The toppings on this hummus are optional, so use whatever you want. If you don’t like blue cheese, you can use milder feta cheese crumbles instead.
The Buffalo sauce makes it spicy, so add as much as you want!
You can use this recipe as a spread on keto bread or for dipping some sliced cucumbers and peppers into. Either way, it is delightful!
Healthy Low-Carb Hummus Recipes
What I love about this hummus is that it is a healthier option for Buffalo dip. The tahini is really high in protein and easy to digest. It’s a really healthy ingredient. Add to it the cauliflower and bacon, and you have a high-fiber and high-fat dip that your body (and your taste buds) are going to love!
Ways To Use Buffalo Sauce
There is nothing quite like the taste of Buffalo sauce. It is very distinct and makes your taste buds pop! I’ve used it before to make Buffalo chicken jalapeno poppers and spicy Buffalo chicken taquitos.
Anything you make with buffalo sauce will be popular at parties – and they won’t even know it’s keto-friendly!
