Treat your tastebuds to a sweet and tart dessert! Low-carb cherry cheesecake fluff is the perfect substitute for cherry pie on the keto diet.
Are Cherries Keto
You have to be smart if you want to enjoy cherry-flavored desserts on keto. Most people agree that cherries aren’t a good idea for keto dieters to eat.
They are really high in natural sugar and carbs.
There are about 18 grams net carbs in one cup of sweet cherries. So if controlled how many you ate, you really could enjoy a few cherries with the rest of your keto-friendly foods.
With all the other ingredients, this dessert has 6 grams net carbs in each serving. So, I used sugar-free cherry syrup in this fluff recipe instead of fresh cherries.
Cherry Cheesecake Fluff
After making my low-carb cookies and cream fluff, I knew I wanted to make a fruity one. And since cherries are so high in natural sugars, I chose to use a sugar-free cherry syrup instead.
It gives the fluff all the sweet and tart cherry flavors you could want, without all the carbs.
This is a pretty basic no-bake dessert recipe. You literally mix everything together, chill it in the fridge, and then add your toppings!
Please read the entire recipe card at the bottom of this post first. It explains the order to mix everything.
You need to follow this order so that it turns out perfectly creamy.
Cherry Chocolate Fluff
You will definitely need either an electric hand mixer or a stand mixer for this recipe. This is because you need to beat the cream cheese until it’s light and fluffy.
Doing that by hand is possible, it’s just exhausting.
You’ll also need to make homemade sugar-free whipped cream. This involves beating the heavy whipping cream with Swerve confectioner’s sugar substitute until you see stiff peaks form.
This is so much easier with a stand mixer. If you don’t have one, get one.
Keto Cherry Cheesecake Fluff
To make it taste like a cherry chocolate dessert, you’ll add some melted chocolate. I used three ounces of Lily’s chocolate bar.
If you don’t have Lily’s you can use any type of sugar-free or keto-friendly chocolate bar that you want. You could even use dark chocolate.
There’s something iconic about the combination of cherries and chocolate. It reminds me of cherry cordials or cherry chocolate truffles.
This dessert is the perfect way to satiate your cravings for it.
How To Store Fluff Desserts
Store the creamy cherry cheesecake fluff in an airtight container. Keep it in the refrigerator and eat it within a few days.
This way, it will still be creamy and fluffy!
Can you freeze a cheesecake fluff? Yes, you can, but I don’t recommend it.
This is because when you try to thaw it and eat it, the texture won’t be the same. It’s best to eat it fresh or refrigerate it.
