This chicken lombardy recipe is as delicious as it is easy! It’s a one-skillet recipe with bacon that kids love too!
What Is Chicken Lombardy?
Chicken Lombardy is a meal you can order at Olive Garden. It is usually made with lots of cheese and a tantalizing marsala sauce.
I love trying to find ways to make some of my favorite restaurant recipes at home, and this is no different! I found a way to hack this recipe and make it low-carb without sacrificing any of the taste.
Chicken Lombardy Without Marsala
The biggest problem with Olive Garden’s version is the marsala. You see, there are about 4g net carbs in each serving of marsala cooking wine. In order to cut the carbs back, use a drier wine in its place.
I used a white cooking wine. To cut the carbs even more, you can use more chicken broth and less cooking wine.
The best thing about this dish is the cheese! I used a combination of mozzarella and parmesan cheese. Try replacing the parmesan cheese with some Asiago or Romano cheese for an even bolder flavor.
Keto Chicken Dinner
This is a one-skillet recipe that the entire family will love! It’s easy to sneak veggies into it – spinach is perfect because it wilts and tastes amazing with the cream sauce.
The bacon is completely optional, but don’t skip it! It gives the sauce a richer flavor. Plus, who doesn’t love bacon? Your kids will love it!
If you want to add some heat, add a pinch of cajun seasoning or sprinkle in some red pepper flakes.
Low-Carb Chicken Lombardy
This is a super-easy recipe that you can make on busy weeknights. It only takes about 30 minutes for it to cook in the oven. Plus, since this is mostly cheese and chicken, there are only 2g net carbs in each serving!
I discovered that the secret to a thicker gravy is xanthan gum. This sauce is traditionally made with some kind of flour to thicken it, but the best low-carb alternative is xanthan gum. It gives the sauce the perfect texture without any added carbs.
What To Serve With Chicken Lombardy
There are a lot of low-carb ways to serve this chicken recipe. The easiest way is to just add some steamed veggies on the side! (That is always my last-minute choice when I don’t have time to cook anything).
It will also taste amazing with some garlic butter cauliflower rice or cauliflower mashed potatoes.
If you are craving pasta with it, use some palmini noodles – they are virtually carb-free! You can never go wrong with some yummy keto garlic knots! My kids ask for them at almost every single meal.
