Creamy, smoky, and with just enough heat to make it tasty, keto chicken lazone is the best main course for dinner.
What Is Chicken Lazone
If you like hot, Cajun recipes, then you’ll love Chicken lazone! This recipe comes from New Orleans.
It was originally made as chicken fried in butter and seasoned with chili powder and spices. Then, the chicken simmers in a creamy sauce.
There are a lot of different adaptations out there. Some recipes serve the chicken and the sauce over pasta and others add lemon juice.
You can cook the chicken in either real butter or olive oil. I used olive oil and the flavor is milder.
Chicken Lazone
I love recreating recipes from New Orleans! They also have so much flavor and it doesn’t take much to make them keto-friendly either.
After making keto New Orleans BBQ shrimp, I wanted to make another classic recipe. So, I made chicken lazone.
The spices on the chicken all work together to make it smoky, spicy, and herbaceous. If you want to make the chicken spicier, use a bit more Ceyanne pepper or add some red pepper flakes.
Keto Chicken Lazone
There are a lot of different ways to serve Chicken lazone. Since it’s traditionally served over pasta, I suggest serving it on top of Palmini linguine noodles.
They taste just like traditional pasta but they’re made from hearts of palm, so the fiber content is so high that it brings the net carbs down. Plus, you just have to heat them up, it’s really easy!
If you’re in a rush, then just serve the chicken as it is or add it on top of some steamed cauliflower rice. The flavors of the chicken are so bold that you can serve almost anything with it.
What To Eat With Chicken
This chicken lazone skillet meal is a high-protein entree that needs some veggies with it. So, I suggest starting out with a Cheesecake Factory copycat salad.
Definitely make some keto garlic knots. You’ll enjoy dipping them into the spicy sauce.
And if you want to add more veggies to the table, make bacon wrapped asparagus on the side too. Everything is better with bacon!
How To Store Cooked Chicken
Store this cooked chicken in a airtight container and keep it in the refrigerator for about three days. Pour as much of the creamy sauce as you can into the container with the chicken. This will keep it juicy.
Then, reheat the chicken in the microwave. It will taste amazing on top of some cauliflower rice!
