~ DIY Hallmark Holiday Card & Ornament Holder ~
Christmas for me has always been all about my boys but this year, I can’t help but want to have something representing the little girl I will be having in March. It still seems surreal that I’m actually having a girl. I’ve always had this feeling that we weren’t complete yet and in my heart I knew a girl would complete our family, but I was also realistic in knowing that it just might never occur. So when I found out I was having a girl, I’ve been looking for ways to add a special touch throughout the house as reminder of what’s to come and when I saw this beautiful Hallmark Card at Walmart, I knew I had to have it. At first I thought of framing it but I decided hang it on the tree using a simple clothing line pin (see step by step tutorial below).
I really think the Hallmark card is the perfect representation of how I feel this holiday season and it shines perfectly among all of other ornaments. Hallmark always have the perfect cards that make it easy to stock up and send a little cheer to those you love. As excited as I am to add a dash of pink to my tree, I also wanted to make sure that it didn’t take away from Joseph, who’s still a baby himself, so we took him with us to pick his first Hallmark Ornament .
The exclusive ornament selection at Walmart was adorable. We loved Frosty, but it was Mickey Mouse who Joseph chose to come home with us. We paired Mickey with the Hallmark card and created one big ornament that represents both Joseph and my baby girl. It was a really special moment for us because it’s the first year that Joseph is aware of Santa and is fascinated by the lights on the Christmas tree. Christmas has always my favorite time of the year but this year just sparkles a little brighter knowing that my little princess is only a few months away from being born and Joseph can actively partake in all the festivities.
