Make homemade keto chocolate bark with salty and crunchy pecans and almonds. This recipe is the perfect snack or dessert.
Keto Chocolate Bark
Have you ever had a craving for a chocolate bar and didn’t know what to do with it? I know I have! For some reason, Hershey’s with almonds are one craving that pops up more than others.
Whenever this happens, I just make a batch of this keto chocolate bark. It has the same flavors as a candy bar with nuts, but helps me stay in ketosis!
In fact, this recipe is the perfect snack or holiday dessert. You can make a large batch, store it in a decorative tin, and serve it on the dessert table at your next party. Even people who aren’t on the keto diet will compliment you on how delicious it is.
Plus, it’s a no-bake dessert. That means you just have to whip it together and stick it in the refrigerator or freezer. Your oven stays free for other things (like maybe some keto pumpkin snickerdoodle cookies).
This is also an easy-enough recipe for kids to help make. They might not want to touch the melted chocolate, but they sure can help stir it or break up the bark after it hardens.
Chocolate Bark With Pecans
This rich and creamy keto chocolate bark is easy to customize too! Here are some of my favorite ways to change things up and make this taste differently each time.
- Use sugar-free chocolate chips. Either use all dark chocolate or mix in half and half with the other kind. This will make the bark even richer.
- You can also mix in some unsweetened shredded coconut. Not only does this give it a fun texture, but it adds a sweeter taste to it too.
- Sprinkle sea salt on top. This is a fantastic idea if you love sweet and salty combinations in your snacks.
- Finally, you can also add a dash of cinnamon to the chocolate before it hardens. This will add a deeper flavor profile and a little bit of bite.
Keto-Friendly Nuts
When it comes to nuts on the keto diet, you want to make sure you are enjoying the kinds that have fewer carbs. Pecans and almonds are the best kinds to use.
Other low-carb nuts you can add to the bark include macadamia nuts, chopped Brazil nuts, or chopped walnuts. All of those have fewer carbs than almonds, so they are good choices.
How To Make Chocolate Bark
All the exact steps are in the printable recipe card at the bottom of this post. First, I wanted to share a few more tips that will help you as you make this bark.
My first tip is to go slow as you melt the chocolate chips. If you melt them in the microwave, then do it in 30-second intervals and stir it really well in between each one. If you keep it in the microwave for too long at a time, they could burn.
Next, make sure and line your baking sheet with either parchment paper or a silicone baking sheet. Not only will this make cleaning up easier, but it’s easier to remove the chocolate after it hardens.
Finally, when you break it into pieces, you’ll make less of a mess if you place the chocolate in a resealable plastic food storage bag first. Now all the tiny bits of chocolate stay in the bag and not on your counter.
Can You Freeze Chocolate Bark
Yes, you can definitely freeze chocolate bark! To freeze the chocolate bark, just put it in a resealable freezer-safe food storage bag. It will stay fresh in the freezer for up to 6 months.
