Keto French Toast Recipe

You know what’s amazing? Creating a recipe that my entire family can eat together that’s keto. There just aren’t a ton of keto recipes that are also kid-friendly. Until this one. Everyone will love this one!

Kid-Friendly Keto Breakfast

Have you ever found yourself making your kids one breakfast and then spending time in the kitchen to make yourself something entirely different?

Me too.

I know that the keto diet is worth it. Eating low-carb has tons of health benefits! But cooking twice all the time gets really old, really fast.

More Keto Breakfast Ideas

Taste should never be at the mercy of your keto diet. Start out your day the right way with these amazing keto breakfast ideas.

That’s why this recipe is so amazing. I can make my entire family the same thing. It saves me tons of time. Plus, I feel like I’m enjoying my meal with them too. Eating a different meal is, as Hillary Duff used to say, “so yesterday.”

Your kids won’t even be able to tell that they are eating something without any extra sugars!

Keto Microwave French Toast

Surprisingly, the entire recipe is made in your microwave! This saves you time and it saves you from using too many pots and pans. Quicker cleanup for the win!

Mornings are not my favorite. I love a recipe where I just have to mix it together and put it in the microwave. Hello, easy!

How To Store Keto French Toast

This is so delicious that I bet you don’t have any leftovers. Just in case you do, here’s how to store them.

French toast tastes best when you make it fresh. If you want to save some for later, you can put it into a small container with a lid. It’ll stay fresh in the fridge for about 2-3 days.

When you are ready to eat it, just put it in the microwave again for about a minute. If it’s too dry, just add a little bit of almond milk.

Can You Freeze Keto French Toast?

This keto French toast recipe only takes a minute to make. It would take longer to freeze and defrost it. Don’t freeze it. Just make it fresh that morning.

What’s in 90-Second Keto French Toast

Here’s what I used in my keto French toast. As you can see, this comes out more like a low-carb mug cake than actual French toast. It still tastes amazing and gives you a boost of protein at the start of the day!

  • Butter – Use salted butter since this recipe doesn’t call for any extra salt.
  • Almond Flour – Always use almond flour, not almond meal. Almond meal isn’t ground as well so it will give your french toast a grainy texture.
  • Baking Powder
  • Egg
  • Heavy Cream – half and half can work in a pinch!
  • Vanilla Extract
  • Cinnamon
  • Sugar-Free Syrup – this is the topping of your French toast. Use any sugar-free syrup that you want.

Other Mix-In Ideas

I loved how mine tasted just like the base recipe with only sugar-free syrup on top. If you want to change things up, here are some more low-carb mix-in ideas. Keep in mind that whatever you add to the recipe will affect the net carb amounts.

  • Sugar-free chocolate chips
  • Shredded coconut
  • Finely chopped apple
  • Pumpkin puree
