Keto Crispy Battered Fried Shrimp
Below is the complete list of ingredients that you’ll need to make this recipe. Exact measurements are in the printable recipe card below.
Ingredients:
Large tail on shrimp (peeled and deveined)
Oil of your choice for frying or an air fryer
Almond flour
Plain unsweetened almond milk
Eggs
Paprika & Garlic powder
Salt and pepper
Instructions:
1. Heat the oil of your choice in a deep skillet over medium-high heat on the stove. If you are using an air fryer instead, preheat it now if required.
2. Clean and wash your shrimp, but leave the tails on.
3. In a bowl, mix together the almond flour, egg, unsweetened almond milk, garlic powder, paprika, and salt and pepper until well combined. Be sure that you do not grab flavored almond milk. You want it to be plain and unsweetened.
4. When the oil is heated and ready, hold the shrimp by the tail, and dip into the batter to coat well. Do not be afraid to apply a thick coating to the shrimp, some of it will float off in the oil when you cook them.
5. Place the shrimp carefully into the oil, only cook a few shrimp at a time so that they are not overcrowded. Cook for 3-5 minutes until golden brown on the outside and opaque in the center.
6. Repeat the dipping and frying process for the remaining shrimp.
7. Serve with your choice of keto-friendly dipping sauce, a fresh salad or other low carb side.
