~ The Perfect Stocking Stuffer + A DIY Makeup Brush Holder ~
The older my kids get, the harder it becomes to actually surprise them with any gifts. They all have their very own wants, needs, and very specific lists (and prices) that they want me to stick to. To be honest, it sort of bummed me out at first because I loved seeing their little surprised faces on Christmas morning but last year, having Joseph around brought some of that Christmas spirit back. I also noticed that my older boys were especially excited to dig into the unknown snacks and what not in their stockings.
I fill their stockings with snacks that each kid loves, like OREO cookies and Chips Ahoy!, that they immediately ravage in place of breakfast, giving me a little time to chill. Being pregnant this year made it a little hard for me to walk by the cookie display at Walmart and only grab a few boxes for them, so I snagged a few extras to eat while we watched some Christmas movies.
After we finished every single cookie (and RITZ crackers ), I started wrapping some gifts and had an idea to use the boxes as a makeup brush holder, to hold some brushes I was gifting a friend. The shape of these boxes are the perfect sizes to make a ton of different stuff but since its Christmas, I went with a pretty gift that was practical too. I’ve got to be honest, this is probably my favorite craft that I made this year and I hope you guys like it too!
Supplies:
Cookie Boxes **I used three but you most definitely can use more.
Scissors
Wrapping paper
Tape *Preferably double sided
Wire Ribbon
Marker
Small glass ornaments **I used small glass balls but the possibilities are endless here.
Makeup brush to measure
How to:
Place makeup brush on top of cookie box and measure halfway and mark it off.
Careful cut the box across the marking.
Cut wrapping paper and wrap boxes starting at the bottom *Make sure you use a little extra paper on the ends so you can fold and tape neatly.
Cut slits into the wrapping paper at the top of the box and tape inside. *Avoid cutting the excess paper off like I originally did because the rough cut edges aren’t very pretty.
Tie them up using the wire ribbon and make a pretty bow.
Adorn the box with brushes and ornaments and you’re done!
Probably the nicest makeup brush holder I’ve seen made out of a OREO cookies and Chips Ahoy box! One trip to Walmart got me some snacks, stocking stuffers for the kids and a pretty DIY gift, not bad!

Lovely! I love how easy & inexpensive it was to create. I could theme it for each season by replacing the decorations.
