I’m watching so many TV shows right now that I can’t keep up. I have two DVR’s at 100% because I can’t find the energy to watch enough episodes to clear them out. I would do a marathon of shows but my binge-watching days are over because Joseph is a very active little baby and keeps us busy. Anyways, back to my point, there’s a lot of good stuff on TV right now and I figured I’d do a quick round up of what I’m watching.
I just started watching Empire and all I can say is wow! The show is pretty much a hip hop and r&b novela based on a music moguls plans for the future of his empire. His sons and ex-wife, cookie (who in my opinion steals the shows), battle each other to take over. It’s hard not to get attached to each character, even the ones you want to hate, and the music is amazing! There are tons of famous cameo appearances and performances. If you’re not watching – you better start!

The Breaking Bad spin off Better Call Saul is a lot better than I expected it would be. The episodes move at a much faster pace than Breaking Bad and it’s a lot funnier too. If I need to explain what kind of show Breaking Bad is and who Saul is then you should be ashamed of yourself! Just kidding (but not really), because you should at the very least know of Breaking bad. 😉

I’m loyal and still watch American Idol but it’s only because they brought Jennifer Lopez back and Harry Connick Jr is hilarious. Otherwise, I would have ditched it. I couldn’t get through one episode when Mariah Carey was a judge. This season they’ve switched things and I think its made it a little more fun to watch. Do you still watch American Idol or have you made the switch to The Voice? I record The Voice and fast forward my way through it. There are lots of talented singers and judges but for some reason I keep coming back to American Idol.

The Following just started its second season and to be honest it’s weak. I won’t get into details in case you haven’t watched it but if you’ve seen one episode you’ve pretty much seen them all. I’m disappointed.

Bates Motel, the prequel to Hitchcock’s “Psycho”, is so awkward, creepy, gory and fun! Its certainly not at Hitchcocks level but it’s definitely not bad.

I’ll be honest, the only reason I started watching The Last Man on Earth is because it was on right after Better Call Saul. The show is obviously about the last man on earth and it’s a little depressing at first but the mood lightens up by the second episode. It’s a good watch but I wonder how much steam its got. Should have been a movie instead?
