More Healthy Low Carb chips: Keto Avocado Chips, Keto Everything Bagel Cheese Chips
Before doing the keto diet, one of my favorite snacks was potato chips. I loved the varieties of different flavors, but the spicy ones were always the ones I reached for most.
Now that I’m eating low-carb, I still crave spicy chips! That’s why I made this recipe. These have that salty crunch that satiates that craving. They also have lots of surprising heat. Believe me, you are going to love them as much as I do!
A Side Dish With A Kick
Sometimes I struggle with what to eat with my low-carb lunch. This is a fun side dish with lots of spice! It lights my tongue on fire, I love it!
You can eat these chips for lunch or as a side dish at cookouts or parties. Make a really big batch of them and take them to a party and you’ll know you have something you can eat too.
Budget-Friendly Snack
Since these are made with pretty inexpensive ingredients, this snack will keep you within your budget. Making your own keto chips is definitely cheaper than buying pre-packaged ones. Once you see how easy it is, you’ll want to make your own all the time.
How To Make Baked Jalapeño Chips
These are literally made by coating jalapeños in crunchy toppings and then baking them. The result is crispy and spicy!
They aren’t fried – so you don’t have to worry about extra fat from the oils. Baking them leaves them perfectly crispy. Keep on eye on them so they don’t burn. They only take about 5 minutes.
Since you are eating jalapeño slices, there isn’t a way to make a mild version.
Baking or Broiling
I used the broil setting because I wanted the heat to come from above. Broiling takes no time pre-heating the oven and my chips are completely crispy in just 5 minutes.
You can choose to bake them. Just preheat the oven to 450 degrees. Then, bake them for about 10-15 minutes. If you cut your peppers thicker, they will take longer to bake.
This is why I prefer to broil mine – it’s so quick and easy!
Low-Carb Breading for Jalepeño Chips
Here’s what I used to “bread” my jalepeños before I baked them.
- Almond Flour
- Pork Rinds
- Garlic Salt
- Eggs
- Salt and Pepper
Use Keto Chips As Salad Topping
If you broil a bunch of them, crunch them up and store them in a glass jar with a lid. Now you have spicy keto croutons to sprinkle on your salad! They will add crunch and spice to a keto taco salad – yum!
You can also crunch them up and top your taco-stuffed avocados with it.
