This keto steak and shrimp kabobs are low-carb and perfect for cookouts, BBQs, and filling lunch. Make it with garlic butter – you are going to love it!
Surf and Turf Kabobs
Shrimp and steak are a classic pair. I love surf and turf, don’t you? They are the perfect thing to make on the grill because they feel so different when you bite into them.
If you ever need an idea for a lunch protein, keep this recipe handy! You can reuse it on top of salads or on the side with your favorite veggies.
Garlic Butter Shrimp and Steak
What really sets this recipe apart from others is the incredible garlic butter. I seasoned it with fresh parsley, minced garlic, and salt and pepper. It’s a pretty basic recipe that elevates the shrimp and steak to amazing heights.
I love using this recipe for my meal prep. After you grill the steak and shrimp, store them in an airtight container. I usually take them off the skewers and store them together in my meal prep containers. Keep them in the refrigerator for up to 5 days.
Keto Grilled Kabobs
There are a few ways that you can change this recipe and make it taste differently each time. Use your favorite meat. Instead of steak or shrimp, use some pork chops and chicken breast.
You can also use any of your favorite types of vegetables. Add some mushrooms, asparagus spears, and carrots.
What To Serve With Kabobs
Since this is a grilled recipe, I like to serve lighter veggies and something that tastes like a roll (without the carbs). I make my keto garlic knots because they really do go with almost any dish! The garlic flavor in these low-carb rolls complements the garlic butter on the shrimp and steak kabobs.
I also really like cauliflower mash with the kabobs because it tastes just like mashed potatoes. Whenever you make anything on the grill, serve it with cheesy asparagus with bacon. The crispy bacon goes with just about anything!
If you want something more like a salad to eat with it, try it with creamy cucumber radish salad, keto coleslaw, or creamed spinach.
Keto Grill Ideas
When you are picking out shrimp to use in your kabobs, always use jumbo shrimp. This way they will cook at the same rate as the steak. If the shrimp is too small, it might burn and the steak won’t even be fully cooked.
Make this on your indoor or outdoor grill. If you don’t want to use your grill, I even included instructions about how to make this recipe in your oven. It’s all in the printable recipe card.
Trust me – use fresh parsley and minced garlic in the garlic butter. Not only will it have the best look, but fresh herbs have a fuller taste than dried ones.
