Next month will make 14 years since I made the move to Florida. I still remember the day we moved here like it was yesterday, everything seemed SO laid back compared with Northern New Jersey where I was moving from. It was a pace that took a lot of getting used to. We made the move in a minivan with three kids and two dogs and as much of our belongings that we could fit. It was so exciting and so scary at the same time. I knew once we got here that it wasn’t going to immediately be easy for us because the move was made on pure faith that we would both find work. It was a decision we made over the summer in case we had to go back. I was the first one to find a job and when my then husband found one too, I ended up in a tight spot because I had to find child care. To say I would have benefited from a service like Care.com is a HUGE understatement. Scroll down to read more on why I became a work at home mom & the decision to hire help

Why I Became A Work at Home Mom & the Decision To Hire Help
Fast forward a decade later and here I am, now a mom of seven, who works at home. It’s a privilege that I never take for granted. While I don’t want to utilize daycares at this point, I’m quickly realizing that I do need some help with housekeeping, and maybe even using babysitters for extra busy work days. I’ve pushed off this decision for about three years now, but Lauren really solidified the decision that in order to grow my business and be the best mom I can be, I would need to delegate and bring someone in. That’s where Care.com comes in and saves the day!
Care.com is the world’s largest digital marketplace for finding and managing family care, including nannies, sitters, housekeepers, senior care, dog walkers and more— full-time, part-time, anytime. I so wish I would have had this available to me when I worked long retail hours! You can join for a free basic membership, and if you upgrade to the premium membership (which is totally worth it), you can check caregivers reviews, references, schedule interviews, and even book and pay for care online or through their handy app!
Why I Became A Work at Home Mom & the Decision To Hire Help
I gave their premium membership a try and it’s so detailed! You fill details about you and your family, with an option to include grandparents and pets, which made me giggle because they’re really like kids too. You can post a job and receive responses from caregivers near you, view caregiver profiles and contact caregivers who meet your needs. Care.com even provides access to a variety of background checks (an invaluable option) that you can purchase to help make the best hiring decision. It basically eliminates the possibility of any wasted time and that’s priceless when you’re a busy mom! Care.com has all corners covered for you too, if you’re hiring a nanny like I may be there are lots of details to remember and things to think about and more importantly to agree on. Care.com suggests creating a nanny contract so that you and your new nanny understand what to expect from each other. Check out their sample contract that you can use and personalize by clicking here, questions to ask when interviewing here and to check out the going rates in your specific area, click here. You name it and they’ve got it available with one click from the comfort of your home.
It’s services like Care.com that can help parents de-stress their lives and allow us to be more focused knowing that your kids, parents, pets and home are well cared for. Everyone needs help once in awhile. I know years ago I use to babysit for a neighbor so she could get business calls done while at home. it was a great gig for me and helped her at home business a lot.

I can totally understand why you hire some help. I think it would drive you insane if you didn’t. I struggle to keep on top of everything while working from home and I only have 2 children 🙂
