Turn your favorite fair food into your favorite dip! Keto chili cheese dog skillet dip is basically a deconstructed chili dog. And it’s so much fun to eat!

Keto Chili Cheese Dog
I love recreating food from my childhood, and chili dogs were one of my favorites! They might make a mess as you eat them, but there’s nothing like that peppery chili all over the steaming hot dog.

When I saw this chili cheese dog skillet dip recipe, it reminded me of how I would take my hot dog and dip it into the chili that fell onto my plate.
After recreating a low-carb version of the dip, I have to admit that it tastes just like my favorite chili dogs as a kid! And if you love cheesy sauce on your hot dogs, then you’ll love this dip too!
The hot dogs are wrapped in my favorite low-carb fathead dough, placed in a skillet, and baked with the cheese sauce in the middle. When it’s fully cooked, you just grab one of the hot dog pieces and dip it in the sauce.
It’s fun and delicious!
Chili Cheese Dog Dip
There are two parts to this recipe – the breaded hot dogs and the chili cheese dip. If you wanted to, you could make just the dip! It’s delicious on its own.

And its pretty simple too. All you have to do is mix together some shredded cheddar cheese, low-carb hot dog sauce, fresh garlic, and the spices.
For the spices I used chili powder (for heat), cumin (for flavor), and paprika (for smoky notes). And don’t forget to top it with some chopped white onions!
Be careful when you buy hot dog chili sauce. Read the nutrition label.
A lot of popular brands will add high fructose corn syrup or some other type of sugar.
Thankfully, Walmart’s Great Value Hot Dog Chili Sauce only has 2 grams of carbs in 1 tablespoon (and it’s from the pinto beans and tomato puree).
Chili Dog Casserole
What is fathead dough? I mentioned it earlier and it’s the dough I used to wrap around the hot dog pieces. As it bakes, they will taste like pigs in a blanket.

Fathead dough is a popular recipe for low-carb bread. It’s made with almond flour, cream cheese, mozzarella cheese, an egg, and baking powder and xanthan gum.
It has a soft and chewy texture (almost like a crescent roll). I used it before to make Keto Copycat Olive Garden Breadsticks, Keto Crack Biscuits, and even Keto Bread Bowl with Cream of Chicken Soup.
It’s a very versatile recipe.
What To Eat With Chili Dogs
There are 7 grams net carbs in each serving of this dip, so be very careful with what you eat with it. I suggest adding some veggies to the table with it, like raw cucumber, broccoli, or cauliflower.

But if you have enough macros to spare, I have some really delicious recipes that will go perfect with the dip. Another fun finger food is my recipe for Keto Avocado Chicken Strawberry Salad Roll-Ups.
They are crispy, sweet, and salty all at the same time. And for dessert, make my Low Carb Raspberry Crumble. It super-sweet, but still low-carb.
Best Keto Hot Dogs
When it comes to eating hot dogs on keto, it’s important to choose a brand that is made with all-natural ingredients and doesn’t include a lot of fillers. Always read the ingredient and nutrition labels first.

Many keto dieters agree that the best-tasting hot dog is the Applegate Naturals. It has a big flavor, sturdy texture, and zero net carbs.
If you can’t find them at your grocery store, Hebrew National is also delicious and low-carb.
