I spent most of my weekend using up Joseph’s birthday gift cards and buying him a lot of toys. With the remaining part of my weekend, I spent it trying to organize my living room, which is also used as a play room and work area. Why would I do both in one weekend, you may ask? I thought I had it all mapped out and that everything we had in the living room would fit nicely with all of the new stuff Joseph got for his birthday, all while keeping it nicely organized for me to work. Ha! Nothing worked out the way I wanted it to.
I’ve always kept my older children toys and my living room separated but we’ve grown as a family and for me to be able to give everyone, including myself, the space that we need I would have to buy at the very least a small compound. Seriously. Also, I now work from home and thats something I never did when it was just my other kids. I have to be available for Joseph all day because it’s just me and him during the day. I don’t have any help so I have to be in the mix and that means working where he plays. I actually enjoy it but he’s at an age where he’s grabbing everything and it’s making things a little difficult but he’s never going to be this age again and I can’t really complain that I get to watch him every day. I know that it’s a blessing.
Long story short, all of Joseph’s toys remain in the living room and Robert continues to use my “work space” to do homework and I wouldn’t have it any other way.
