This weekend we FINALLY celebrated Joseph’s baptism. This was supposed to happen a lot sooner but it got postponed because we wanted his godparents from NY to be there for it. It meant a lot for me to have my cousin and her husband to baptize Joseph so we decided to wait until now to get it done and it was definitely worth the wait. I dressed Joseph up in his little baptism outfit that I got at Target (you can see the outfit here). I didn’t even know that Target carried baptism outfits. I searched everywhere for one that I liked but this outfit turned out to be the best and most affordable. His shoes were flown in from NY with his godparents and if you take a close look you’ll notice that he has no socks on. I didn’t try his shoes on because my cousin brought them in the night before and when I went to put them on the morning of with socks they wouldn’t fit. He has extremely wide feet and it’s hard to find shoes I like in his size. I wanted to cry! lol
A little blurry but my favorite picture
Socks or no socks, it definitely didn’t ruin his day because the baptism was beautiful! Unfortunately, the family that was suppose to baptizing their little girl wasn’t able to make it and we had our own private baptism. My family of course still filled up the church, there was 11 of us! Since the priest said we could take pictures, I had everyone start snapping right away. Joseph was a little wiggly as I expected but at least he wasn’t cranky and that’s something I was worried about because it was during his nap time. At the end of the ceremony the priest even sang an acoustic song just for Joseph and presented us with a handmade prayer quilt that was made just for him. It was perfect!
We didn’t plan a huge party or anything afterwards but we spent the rest of the day together grilling with the family and Joseph was so happy. It’s as if he knew the day was all about him!
