My Favorite Eggnog Recipe Ideas
I am one of those people that actually really enjoys drinking eggnog during Christmas. Being on the keto diet (and having a daughter that is allergic to eggs) I decided to make a different way to enjoy eggnog.
That’s when it hit me – make an eggnog chaffle! I love finding new ways to make chaffles and this is just as easy as all the other ones I have made. In fact, it’s so easy that your kids can help you make it.
You can make it ahead and store it in the freezer. Then, when you are ready to make these chaffles, you can heat them up in the toaster. Talk about an easy breakfast!
Keto Chaffle Ideas
Have you ever made a chaffle? It’s basically a waffle made with cheese and eggs. After that base, you can add lots of other ingredients to create a variety of flavors and tastes.
I’ve made a pumpkin chaffle before and even made one that tastes like churros. If you like blueberry muffins then you can add blueberries to a base chaffle recipe and enjoy a blueberry chaffle.
To make this taste like eggnog, I used classic spices usually used in this drink -nutmeg, cinnamon, and ground cloves. I also created a fantastic keto whipped topping that makes this taste like a dessert.
That’s why I enjoy this as an after-dinner dessert too.
It’s the perfect holiday treat. Make a batch of them in your Mini Dash Waffle Maker (They’re less than $20 and so easy to use!) and serve them at your family brunch or for Christmas breakfast.
Optional Toppings
This is a fun way to add the flavors of eggnog without drinking it! The whipped cream topping can also be used as a spread on the chaffles too.
Here are a few optional toppings that you can add to the chaffles.
- Chopped Nuts
- Sugar-Free Chocolate Chips
- Crumbled Bacon
