Ease meets flavor in this sweet and spicy keto Korean beef bowl. It’s perfect for lunch or dinner.
Korean Beef Bowl
Have you ever had Korean beef? It’s a tantalizing combination of umami, sweet, and spicy flavors. It almost reminds me of a spicy version of teriyaki beef.
Traditionally, Korean beef is made with thin strips of steak, grilled in a sweet and spicy sauce. Korean ground beef bowls – like mine – are shortcut versions of this popular entree.
I prefer to cook ground beef on busy weeks when I don’t have time to make sure the steaks are cooked all the way. I also like ground beef for kiddos that are too young to chew steak all the way. Tough bites of steak are a choking hazard for smaller kiddos.
This is a really easy recipe to customize for your family. It’s also budget-friendly, and really good for people with food allergies.
Keto Ground Beef Bowl
It’s easy to replace the ground beef with your favorite type of ground meat. Ground chicken, turkey, or even pork will all taste delicious with this combination of spices.
There are just two main ingredients – the beef and the cauliflower rice. If you wanted to add more veggies, I suggest chopping up some peppers and adding them to the mix.
Spicy Korean Beef
Since I have kids, I have tried to make them spicy enough for my kids to eat them. The spiciest ingredient in these bowls is ginger.
If you want to make the bowls even spicier, I suggest adding some chili garlic paste and maybe even some Sriracha on top.
Keto Korean Beef
This is one of my favorite recipes to use in my meal prep. Both the ground beef and the cauliflower rice save beautifully. Store this Korean beef bowl in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to three days.
Yes, you can freeze this recipe too. Store it in a resealable freezer-safe food storage bag and keep it in the freezer for up to six months. When you are ready to enjoy it again, let it thaw in the refrigerator overnight.
What To Eat With Korean Beef
This keto Korean beef recipe is an entire meal in one bowl. You don’t need any sides with it because the meat and cauliflower are all you need nutritionally.
If you want to add more veggies to your table, I suggest making a low-carb cheesy green bean casserole. It will give you a different texture and taste and it is delicious with this beef bowl.
This easy keto broccoli salad is also a hit with a Korean bowl. It’s a really simple salad that takes just minutes to mix together.
