What Is Dalgona Coffee?
Dalgona coffee is reportedly named after a foamy South Korean candy. It became really popular on social media during the social-distancing time of the COVID-19 pandemic because it’s so easy to make a drink that looks like an indulgent coffee-shop treat.
Budget-Friendly Whipped Coffee
There are only 5 easy ingredients in my recipe. Since I’m a mom of small children, I am very budget-conscious. This recipe uses ingredients you probably already have in your refrigerator.

Sugar-Free Whipped Coffee
How do you make whipped coffee that is both sugar-free and dairy-free? That’s the question I set out to answer.
And I did it!
I used granulated Stevia as my sweetener. You can also try to use some Monk Fruit sweetener or granulated erythritol. All three of those are sugar-free sweeteners that will help your coffee taste perfect.
To make it thick and give it that whipped texture, I used unsweetened coconut milk. You can also use almond milk or soy milk. All three of these dairy-free milk options work in my recipe.
Remember, if you are tracking your macros, you need to choose the sugar-free milk options.
How To Customize Your Whipped Coffee
My recipe is extremely basic. Use my recipe as a place to start when you try to make your own versions.
Here are a few ways you can customize it and still keep it low-carb.
- Sugar-free caramel sauce
- Sprinkle unsweetened coconut flakes on top
- Add unsweetened cocoa powder for a mocha
- Top with sugar-free chocolate chips

Heavy cream is a common ingredient in keto recipes. It will give you a dose of healthy fats and make it taste really creamy too.
Dairy-free creamers are another option. Nut-pods are a popular choice for Whole30 dieters and keto dieters alike.
