It’s now only 22 days away from Christmas and with that comes the kid’s winter break! These pinecone Christmas trees are a great way to keep the kids entertained! Scroll down for the quick tutorial.
If you were to ask me what my favorite part of my day is, I’d have to say it’s when the kid’s have snack time. It’s when I put my work away and we just hang out together. With the holidays and winter break right around the corner, I plan to make fun Christmas crafts for kids during snack and craft time!
Pinecone Christmas Trees
I wish I could take credit for the cute phrase, but it was actual Joseph who came up with it. During snack time, she begged to craft and I told her we would have to wait until after snack time. He immediately snapped back with his sassy attitude and said, “why can’t we craft AND snack?” I loved it, and it’s now what we call that special part of our day!
Snack time for my kids consists of some type of fruit and another fun snack of their choosing. Right now, we’re loving the nourishing and filling Jif® Power Ups™ that are made with no corn syrup. They’re also great to take on the go, which we do more often during the holidays.
Jif® Power Ups™ comes in two varieties creamy clusters, and a chewy granola bar (which I keep in my bag for snacking). Right now we’re enjoying Jif® Power Ups™ Creamy Peanut Butter Chewy Granola Bars and Jif® Power Ups Apple Cinnamon™ Creamy Clusters.
Pinecone Christmas Trees
What you’ll need to make this pinecone Christmas tree craft:
Green paint or spray paint *I used spray paint
Pinecones
Small pom poms
Glue
Small plastic (for kids crafting) or ceramic planters
Instructions:
Paint pinecones and set aside to dry. *Keep paint around the edges of the pinecone for a more Christmas tree look.
If you plan on gifting these pinecone Christmas tree I suggest gluing on the pom poms. **Pom poms fit better the further back you place them.
The kids, however, did have a lot of fun just placing the pom poms (and removing over and over again lol) randomly around the pinecones.
Place pinecone on top of the planter and start placing your pom poms.
Pin for later!
