Five Ways To Make Back-To-School Morning Routines Easier With Costco
THE FOLLOWING IS A SPONSORED POST ON BEHALF OF COSTCO AND ACORN INFLUENCE. ALL THOUGHTS AND OPINIONS ARE ALWAYS MY OWN.
Even though we’re smack in the middle of summer, my kids actually start school in about a month. They finished school the first week of June and this summer has flown right by us. Now we’re already planning on what backpacks to buy and which sneakers they must have, while I’m busy trying to lock down a tight schedule and wake up super early to get some quiet work time for myself. Having kids in a wide variety of ages can be a bit tricky to manage because their schedules are all over the map, so I have to make the most of every minute and be prepared. Below are Five Ways To Make Back-To-School Morning Routines Easier With Costco.
Five Ways To Make Back-To-School Morning Routines Easier With Costco
1. Set the table for breakfast the night before. This one takes bit to get used to and it requires dishes to be done the night before, but that little extra effort will make mornings that much more pleasant.
2. Pull out everyone’s clothes the night before. This is a real time saver, and when I have time I’ve pulled out clothes for the entire week. I even set out the little ones outfits. **If you’re like me and want to avoid ironing, the key is to fold or hang clothes as soon as they’re out of the dryer. Takes a few minutes to hang and fold but you avoid ironing them afterwards.
3. You have no idea how confusing it can get to sort socks in a house with seven kids! Buying everyone a pair of socks in their own color or pattern makes it easier for me to sort and easy for the kids to find.
4. Set alarms a few minutes earlier for the first few weeks. After a long, lazy summer, it’s inevitable that someone will be running late to the bus stop during the first few weeks. That would be a pretty big ordeal in my case because I’d have to get the car loaded up with all the kids to drive them to school. To avoid that, I plan on setting mine and their alarms a little earlier than we normally would.
5. Stock up on after school snacks and General Mills breakfast cereals. We love heading into Costco and stocking up on General Mills cereals like Cinnamon Toast Crunch, snacks like Nature Valley™ Fruit and Nut Trail Mix Bars and Ziplock bags that we use for a TON of different things during the school year! It’s a lot easier, and it lets me buy in bulk and not have to run back and forth to the stores. We love that we can also collect Box Tops off their favorite General Mills products (some products have 8 Box Tops) , something my kids have always looked forward to! It inspires them to help collect enough so that their schools library can get a bigger selection of books. It really is fun watching them pick their favorite General Mills products at Costco and cut out the Box Tops and carefully store them in Ziplock bags.

I love COSTCO and so wish I’d had it around (in upstate NY) when my kids were small. We had BJ’s Wholesale and I couldn’t stand it. I never knew what the big fuss was about. COSTCO, however, it is one of my favorite places here in Atlanta.

I also have found that getting clothes ready the night before makes a difference. My 2nd grader will take a VERY big chunk out of her morning looking for exactly what she wants to wear and when we forget to do it the night before it causes headaches and conflict.

Yes, we collect Box Tops as well! I need to start planning more in advance like you have here in this post. It would make my mornings easier.

I need to head to costco to stock up on snacks. I think we go through more when school is out than when it is in!

I didn’t know Nature Valley made fruit and nut bars! I’m definitely going to be looking out for those in time for the new school year 🙂
