Crispy bacon avocado fries are a low-carb alternative to French Fries. They taste great with a burger or your favorite copycat fast food recipes.
How To Make Avocado Fries
When I think of avocado fries, I think of mushy avocado slices coated in bread crumbs. But that’s definitely not what these are!
Instead of messy pork rind crumbs or almond flour, these avocado fries are basically avocado slices wrapped in bacon. Yup, there are literally just two ingredients – avocado and bacon.
You don’t have to deal with oil, grease, or deep-frying the avocado. Keep reading, and I’ll share some tips that will make it even easier to make these tasty low-carb fries.
Air Fry Bacon
The first thing you need to do is precook the bacon. If you try to wrap the avocado slices with raw bacon, it will leave way too much grease on the avocado fries and it won’t turn out as well.
You definitely want to precook the bacon. You can do this in the microwave. Just place the slices of bacon in a single layer and heat them up for 2-3 minutes.
Cover them with a paper towel if you want to prevent the grease from spitting all over the inside of your microwave.
I prefer to use the air fryer for my bacon. Place the bacon in a single layer in the air fryer for about 5 minutes at 300F. You don’t want the bacon to be fully cooked, just cooked enough that most of the grease releases from it and the bacon is easy to handle.
Bacon Avocado Fries
These are the perfect things to serve at parties or eat for your lunch. Both the avocado and bacon are high in fat, so this is a really filling recipe! You don’t need to eat very many of them before you feel full.
This is a really simple recipe, but you can jazz it up in a lot of ways. Do you want it to taste spicier? Add a few drops of Tabasco sauce to each avocado slice.
When they are fresh out of the oven, sprinkle them with some Everything Bagel Seasoning. Or, squeeze some fresh lemon juice on top of them when they come out of the oven!
Keto Fries
French fries are one of the toughest things to give up when you start a low-carb or keto diet. Thankfully, these are a fun and tasty alternative!
I’ve heard of people making zucchini fries before, but since these are made with bacon, they are even tastier! Plus, the avocado is slightly sweet, so it’s a sweet, salty and savory combination that you’ll love.
What To Eat With Fries
Since these are a perfect low-carb replacement for French fries, serve them with your favorite type of keto bunless burgers.
Keto sheet pan bacon cheeseburgers are a quick and easy way to make enough burgers for your entire family. These fries also taste delicious with keto butter burgers.
For something completely unique, make some low-carb Greek burgers with Greek yogurt coleslaw. The flavors leap from the burger and slaw and you’ll love every bite!
