Adding real butter to your burgers takes them to a whole new level of flavor. Make these keto butter burgers at your next cookout!
Keto Butter Burger
There is a keto trend where you put butter into your hamburgers before you fry them. Have you tried this? If not, then you really should! Not only does the butter give the burgers more healthy fats, but it actually makes them crispier on the outside and juicier in the middle.
It’s the perfect way to take your pan-fried or grilled burgers to the next level.
I want to make one quick note. Do not confuse this with Culver’s ButterBurger. Their hamburgers are called that because they are placed inside a buttered bun.
My recipe is called a butter burger because I actually put butter into the burger meat.
Add Butter To Burger Meat
Don’t just add some butter on top of the burgers before you grill them. That will leave buttery indentations on your patties – it isn’t very appetizing. Instead, use cold butter cubes and place them inside the ground beef with some cheese. Make sure the butter is cold.
That way, it will melt as the burgers cook and fill the patties with juicy flavor.
You can customize this recipe in a lot of different ways. Use your favorite kind of cheese – jalapeno cheddar cheese would give the burgers some heat. Instead of garlic powder, use garlic salt and omit the salt at the end.
Butter Hamburger
These burgers taste incredible and each patty only has 1 gram net carbs! Serve them on top of your favorite type of keto dinner rolls or buns and enjoy them just like you would a regular burger. Add some pickles and sliced avocado for low-carb toppings.
Sliced tomatoes are higher in carbs, so only add about one slice per burger. These are perfect to add to your weekly keto meal prep. Just store them in an airtight food storage container in the refrigerator for up to three days.

If you are going to be grilling at a campout or on your back deck, you can form the raw patties ahead of time. Cover the patties to keep the air off of them and store them in the refrigerator.
These burgers taste amazing when you grill them over charcoal, a gas grill, or an indoor grill or air fryer. Just remember to temperature check your burgers. They should be cooked until they reach an internal temperature of 165F.
Keto Burger Sides
Serve these keto butter burgers with your favorite low-carb sides. Keto guacamole deviled eggs are a cookout classic. Everyone loves them! For a fun twist, make some keto BLT egg sliders. They are fun to pick up and low-carb.
Keto fried pickles with cheese are a crunchy and zesty way to replace French fries. Serve it all with a cold glass of sugar-free sweet tea!
