This keto bacon wrapped cabbage recipe is the perfect appetizer, lunch, or side dish. Crispy, smoky, and delightfully low-carb!
Cabbage Bites
I love how much bacon transforms almost anything! I’ve wrapped bacon around pickles and even made keto bacon twists. Turns out, bacon even tastes delicious when you wrap it around cabbage wedges.
These cabbage bites are the best little appetizers to serve at your next party. Just add a toothpick to each one and set them out on a serving tray. Then your guests can pick up as many as they want.
I also like to eat these cabbage bites for lunch. Serve them with a high-protein salad (like my jalapeno popper chicken salad) and you have everything you need to power through the rest of your day.
Cabbage And Bacon Recipe
This recipe is one of the best things you can eat on the low-carb diet, because cabbage is so low in carbs. There are about 2.5 grams net carbs in a cup of cabbage. You’ll be able to enjoy more than a few of these bites without worrying about your macros.
It couldn’t be easier to make them either! Just chop up the cabbage, wrap the bacon, and season the bites. After you bake them they are ready to eat.
Bacon-Wrapped Cabbage Keto
You can make these bacon-wrapped keto cabbage bites in the air fryer too. To make them in the air fryer, follow all the directions, then place them in the air fryer at 400F. Cook them until the bacon is crispy, about 30 minutes.
On a keto diet, you should always use sugar-free bacon. Turkey bacon works for this recipe too.
Cabbage Appetizer
The best kind of cabbage for this cabbage appetizer is green cabbage. The red cabbage could work too, but it will have a very strong taste. I do not recommend making it ahead of time. It tastes the best when it is fresh out of the oven.
If you make it ahead of time, the texture will change. The bacon and cabbage will be less crispy.
Store them in an airtight container in the refrigerator for about a day.
Baked Cabbage
Cabbage is a very versatile vegetable. You can fry it in a pan, turn it into coleslaw or salad, and add it to a hot soup. It also tastes amazing when you wrap it in bacon and bake it in the oven.
After you bake the cabbage bites, you can even make a dip for them. They are the perfect size and crispiness to dip into your favorite keto ranch dressing, or make a delicious cheese sauce.
You can also make them spicier. Drizzle some sriracha or hot sauce on top after they come out of the oven.
