This keto queso dip is perfect for parties or a night in with your family. It’s cheesy, only takes 15 minutes to make, and 4g net carbs!
Is Queso Keto-Friendly?
Yes, you can have queso on the keto diet, as long as you make it yourself. Queso is low in carbs as long as it doesn’t have any added sugar in it.
Another thing that causes queso to have lots of carbs is the tomatoes. Sometimes people like to add lots of tomatoes to the queso – and they are naturally high in sugar.
My recipe only has 4g net carbs in each serving.
Keto Dip With Cream Cheese
I used lots of dairy in this recipe, so if you are sensitive to dairy, this might not be the recipe for you. The cream cheese makes it taste really rich and gives it plenty of healthy fats.
I also added some Mexican-blend shredded cheese. You could also choose to shred some pepper jack cheese or any kind of spicy cheese that you enjoy.
Then, I also added heavy whipping cream to give it the consistency I needed. If your queso is too thick, add more whipping cream. It works!
Queso Dip With Sausage
This is fantastic when you are craving something salty. It’s so fun to eat – so it is also fun to serve at parties or as a side dish on Taco Tuesday.
I used ground pork sausage in this recipe, but you can replace it with any kind of ground meat. Try it with ground turkey or even ground beef. If you want it to taste spicier, just add some cayenne pepper or a splash of hot sauce.
Easy Keto Dips
I love eating dips as a snack or with my lunch. This is perfect to enjoy when you want something spicy or you are craving Mexican food.
For something different, try my keto Reuben dip. It has all the same flavors of the popular sandwich.
There are lots of things you can use to dip with when you are on the low-carb diet – just not corn tortilla chips. Instead, enjoy it on top of some keto chaffle bread. If you want a chip idea, make some everything bagel chips. I like to dip my bacon-wrapped onion rings in the queso too.
Sausage Appetizer Ideas
I just love the spice and savory taste of sausage! There are so many different ways you can cook it and share it as an appetizer too. Putting it in this queso is one of the best ways though. Almost everyone loves queso!
In fact, I like to serve it with pork rinds. Plain pork rinds are crispy and the perfect thing to use for dipping. Other things to serve with this queso are low-carb veggie chips or as a topping for your taco salad.
How To Make Sausage Queso Dip
There are two ways to make this dip – either on the stove or in a slow cooker. Honestly, making it on the stove is so much faster!
If you don’t have time to stir and watch it, then use a slow cooker. Just make sure it is on its lowest temperature setting since this doesn’t take long to cook.
Can I Freeze Sausage Dip
I do not recommend trying to freeze the sausage dip. When you try to heat it back up, the consistency won’t be the same. Instead, just store it in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to a week. To reheat it, place it in a saucepan and stir it over medium-low heat.
