As if shrimp could get any tastier, wrap it in bacon! These keto bacon wrapped shrimp skewers are as fun to eat as they are to make.
Bacon Wrapped Shrimp
If bacon and shrimp are your two favorite things, then putting them together will really make you happy! This is one of those recipes that you can eat for lunch or even for dinner.
In fact, it’s so easy to make that it’s the perfect thing for busy weekdays when you eat as you run out the door. This is literally made with seasoned shrimp and sweetened bacon.
Even after all the spices and ingredients, there is still just 1 gram net carbs in each serving (and this recipe makes six servings). Keep reading and I’ll share my best tips and a few ways that you can change this recipe to make it taste differently.
Shrimp Skewers
These skewers make the perfect lunch, snack, or party food. I love serving them at parties because you can let each guest pick up their own skewer.
That means no messy serving spoons or germ spreading! Plus, since they come on a stick, they’re even better than other types of finger food.
The shrimp is spiced with paprika, so pair it with an equally smoky dipping sauce. I dipped the shrimp in sugar-free BBQ sauce and the combination is perfect!
You could also dip them into buffalo sauce, teriyaki sauce, or ranch dressing. If you want the shrimp to have more heat, I suggest adding red pepper flakes to the spice rub.
Keto Shrimp Skewers
I made these simple shrimp skewers in the air fryer. This meant I could make them inside, no matter what the weather was like but if you have an indoor grill, like a George Foreman, you can use that instead.
They will also taste delicious outside on the grill or inside on the stove. The stovetop is quick, but it doesn’t give the shrimp the classic crispy texture that grilling or air frying will give them.
What To Eat With Shrimp
This is the perfect entree, so I suggest making Cucumber strawberry salad on the side. It’s a garden-fresh salad with a soft, crunchy texture and all topped with feta cheese.
The soft flavors will taste delicious with the grilled shrimp. The shrimp will also taste really good with keto pickled deviled eggs too.
They are both full of protein, which is really good for you when you’re on keto. If you want something sweet, then make either keto strawberry cream cheese roll ups or some low-carb white chocolate carrot cake balls for dessert.
How To Store Cooked Shrimp
Save some extra bacon wrapped shrimp so you always have a high-protein snack whenever you’re feeling a little hungry. Take the grilled shrimp off the skewers and store them in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to three days.
I suggest reheating them in the air fryer or a skillet, so that the bacon stays nice and crispy! Can you freeze them? Yes, you can! Place them in a freezer-safe food storage bag and keep them in the freezer for up to six months.
