Whenever I walk into a room with all of my boys in tow I immediately get a lot of awkward stares. Some people come right out and say something sweet like, “you have a lot men to protect you,” but most of the time people just look at me confused. I know it’s a little out of the ordinary in today’s world to walk into a place with 4 kids of your own (let alone 4 boys of which 2 look old enough to be a younger brother) but why stare? I guess it’s a hell of lot better than being asked, “awwwww you never got your girl?” Which, by the way, I get asked all the time!
I’m not going to lie and say I’ve never wanted a girl because I did at one point but I wouldn’t say I was having all these kids in the hopes one would pop out a girl! In fact I’m SO happy that they’re all boys because they have grown close and I know in my heart they will be best friends and support each other through thick and thin. And you know what, they really are sweet to me! A great example is when my 8 year old asked me this morning if I needed anything before he left to school with his grandma..it was unexpected, pure and sweet!
I never thought I was built to have a girl because I’m not as sweet and feminine as many might think. I hate to cook and clean, I curse like a sailor and would prefer to hang with a room full of guys than a room full of girls. With boys “it is what it is” and there’s not much to analyze.
Sure, I may not have a girl but I have something that many women can’t say they have – 5 boys that I wouldn’t trade for anything in the world!

I get some wild looks and comments with three kiddos–2 boys and 1 girl. I haven’t figured out if it’s the number or their proximity in age that seems to really throw people for a loop. LOL! You have a beautiful family

What a handsome group of boys you have! My sister has all girls and she is constantly asked the opposite question “are you ever going to have a boy?” “Is your husband upset you have all girls and doesn’t have a son?” People ask some crazy (and insensitive) questions!
Stopping by from SITS!

Thank you! It’s crazy how intrusive people can be. I just shrug my shoulders and keep moving 🙂 Thanks for stopping by!

I have three boys and I get that question ALL the time, too. It’s so inconsiderate, they have no idea how it affects me. One of these times, I swear I’m going to say, “No I didn’t, thank you for rubbing salt in one of my biggest wounds!”
