When I was growing up, mi families summer house parties were the best! Merengue y salas on full blast, a delicious lechon or jamon smothered with pineapples in the oven, and there was always some type of tropical drink or dessert to end the night with. It was the best! While I can’t have throw parties on a regular basis (although I wish I could), I can bring that same freshness of the tropics to my home at any time of the year whenever I do laundry with the trusted cleaning power of all® Fresh Tropical Mist™ (that I buy at Dollar General ) their new fresh tropical scent. Now my drawers can be filled with fresh tropical scented clothes as a wonderful reminder of those fun tropical parties in Brooklyn and it actually inspired the DIY pineapple vase below.
DIY Pineapple Vase
Now as an adult, I add a touch of the tropics to my backyard with this pretty DIY pineapple vase to our outdoor tables (easy DIY instructions are below). Pineapples are the perfect symbol of summer and the tropics, as they symbolize warmth and hospitality and that is exactly what I want everyone to feel when they enter my home.

If you really think about it, all® Fresh Tropical Mist™ trusted stain fighting power is to fight the toughest kid stains like grass, mud, and grape juice and that goes hand in hand with summer parties! There’s not one summer party we have had or have gone to where the kids are not playing in the dirt or making a mess. And since it costs 30% less than the leading brand. that leaves a couple of extra dollars for myself!
DIY Pineapple Vase
Supplies:
Pineapple *** I use three per table
Metallic spray paint
Knife
Votive jar
Foam
Flowers
How to:
Start off by spray painting the pineapples and set aside to dry for about 30 minutes.

Cut off the crown.

Trace the opening of the votive along the top of the pineapple.

Cut and remove the inside of pineapple and place votive inside. *Make sure to add a little water for the flowers.

Add foam and arrange your flowers.

**I cut the stems pretty short making them easier to poke into foam and give the arrangement a more full look.
