Kids have now finished school and I thought an indulgent dessert that’s also fun to make would be the perfect way to kick off the official start of summer! This donut ice cream cake is perfect to make for sleepovers, Birthdays, or those late summer nights where you want something sweet and it’s so easy to put together that even Joseph helped with the sprinkles! This easy to make Donut ice cream cake will most definitely tempt me away from the salads I’ve been having lately but that’s ok with me, I rather have some sweets than to deprive myself.
I initially was going to make the donuts from scratch but it’s pretty busy around here and I ended up buying a dozen of glazed donuts at our grocery store. I wanted chocolate donuts but my kids LOVE glazed so I went with it and figured I’m better off not making the chocolate ones because Id probably eat most of them! Ingredients:
Donuts
Ice cream
Sprinkles
Chocolate syrup
How To:
Take one donut and with a butter knife spread on the ice cream and add sprinkles. If you plan on eating as soon as you make them, place in freezer for 10 minutes.
Remove donut from freezer and add second donut, a scoop of ice cream and more sprinkles. Drizzle with chocolate syrup and freeze for 5 minutes and you’re done!
Looking for a lighter version? Use old fashion donuts and replace ice cream with fruit.
