Best Keto Asian Chicken
What is your favorite thing about Asian chicken? For me, it’s all in the sauce. I love how the umami flavors combine with the caramelized sugar to coat every bite of meat.
Since the best way to stay within my macros is to cook food at home, I made a copycat of one of my favorite takeout recipes.
When you make a dish of this keto Asian chicken and mushrooms, you will be able to smell the irresistible combination of flavors. Serve the chicken on top of a bed of your favorite cauliflower rice and you have a complete meal.
Keto Asian Chicken Thighs Or Breasts
This recipe is really versatile, so use the cut of meat that is on sale at the grocery store. I used chicken breasts, but you can also make this recipe with some thinly-sliced chicken thighs too.
It’s pretty surprising that there are only 3g net carbs in each serving. This is a very filling meal and really does satisfy your craving for sweet and salty foods at the same time.
I’ve had days when I crave takeout – mostly because it was just a really busy day and I don’t want to spend hours cooking. This recipe comes together in just 30 minutes. In fact, if you use rotisserie chicken or pre-cooked chicken, it’s even faster!
Keto Chicken and Mushroom Recipe
Mushrooms are a fantastic type of food to add to your keto-friendly recipes. They are high in B vitamins, which are good for your heart. Plus, they are rich in the antioxidant selenium, which supports a healthy immune system.
My favorite type of mushrooms is shiitake, but any variety of mushrooms will taste scrumptious in this quick stir fry recipe.
There is a lot of room for changing this recipe. Throw in some of your favorite low-carb vegetables. Some zucchini or squash would taste delicious mixed in. I topped it with some green onions. Try adding some chopped white onions with the garlic.
Keto Asian Sauce
Save this recipe even if it is just to save the low-carb Asian sauce recipe. The unmistakable ginger, umami soy sauce, salty oyster sauce, and sweet brown sugar substitute are the perfect combination.
If the sauce isn’t thick enough, add a bit more xanthan gum.
I used rice cooking wine and it gives the sauce the perfect addition of sweetness. It won’t alter the taste much if you use a different type of white wine, but pay attention to the macros. Dry cooking wine has 0g net carbs, but sweet white wines can have up to 14g carbs in each glass.
Low-Carb Asian Chicken
Save even more cooking time by pre-making the low-carb Asian sauce. It will stay fresh in the refrigerator for up to a week. The Asian chicken only has 6 simple ingredients.
When you pre-make the sauce, all you have to do is cook the chicken and veggies and add the sauce on top!
This is a very quick and very easy recipe that is perfect on busy days.
