Lip-smacking honey mustard thighs cook in a creamy sauce, topped with bacon! This keto chicken skillet dinner is the best of the best!
Honey Mustard Chicken Thighs
I adore the sweet and tangy combination of honey and mustard. I’ve used it before to make low-carb honey mustard chicken salad and keto baked ham with honey mustard glaze.
The secret to a delicious and low-carb honey mustard sauce is to use keto-friendly honey substitute. It has the same sticky texture as traditional honey, but is super low in carb.
These delicious chicken thighs are incredibly simple to make. Just cook the chicken and then add all the ingredients for the sauce.
Let them all cook together and then dinner is ready. It’s one of those recipes that I like to save for busy nights.
Creamy Chicken Thighs
There are literally three simple ingredients in the keto honey mustard sauce. All you need is some Dijon mustard, Sugar-Free Honey, and heavy whipping cream.
That’s it! And if you want to make it spicier, use some spicy brown mustard.
Do you need to make a dairy-free sauce? Use canned coconut milk instead of heavy whipping cream.
This entire dinner is ready in about 30 minutes. The most important thing to remember is to make sure the chicken is fully cooked.
Use an instant read food thermometer to check the temperature of the chicken. Chicken thighs (and poultry) needs to cook until it reaches 165F.
Keto Chicken Thighs
You can make this recipe with either chicken breasts or even pork chops. No matter what type of meat you use, just make sure it’s fully cooked.
But don’t leave out the spinach. It fortifies the entire dish with more vitamins, fiber, and minerals.
Switch things up and add some arugula to the spinach. Or sprinkle some fresh chopped basil in the sauce.
It will taste (and smell) incredible.
What To Eat With Chicken
Keto creamy honey mustard chicken thighs are the perfect entree for a low-carb dinner. Add the honey mustard sauce on top of your favorite keto-friendly noodles (I love Palmini canned pasta).
You can also serve this with some low-carb green beans and bacon on the side. If you love spices and complex flavors, then this keto loaded ranch cauliflower is amazing!
The cauliflower is roasted and has the best crispy texture. For anyone who loves cheese, these keto scalloped turnips will taste perfect with the chicken thighs too.
How To Store Chicken Thighs
Save this recipe to use in your meal prep. You can either reheat the entire recipe or save the chicken thighs and use them on top of chopped lettuce for a delicious salad.
You can even use the chicken thigh meat in a chicken salad recipe.
